Truscott Overcall

Truscott is an overcall of a strong artificial opening such as 1C or 2C.

An overcall shows a two-suited hand with the overcall suit plus the next higher suit: 1C-1H shows Hearts and Spades.

Dbl shows the suit doubled and the non-touching suit: 1C-Dbl shows Clubs and Hearts.

NT overcall shows the suits not shown by a double: 1C-1N shows Diamonds and Spades.

In all cases, the hand should normally have <10 HCPs, most of which should be concentrated in the suits shown.
